Tiger Prospect

Tiger Gabbroid – style nickel – copper – cobalt prospect is represented by a gabbroic intrusive containing olivine – rich phases that include troctolite and olivine gabbronorite that can be associated with nickel - copper - cobalt mineralisation comparable to the Sally Malay or Voisey Bay deposits. The gabbro has intruded the high grade Tickalara Metamorphics near the contact with the Koongie Park Formation.

The Tiger Prospect is associated with strongly anomalous MAGSTREAM values up to 227 ppm Ni (background - 35 ppm Ni), 56 ppm Co (background - 20 ppm Co), and 428 ppb Cr (background - 110 ppm Cr) using a partial digest analytical technique. The area has received very little work and warrants follow up exploration. There is evidence that additional gabbroic intrusives occur within the tenement package, south of Halls Creek but are largely obscured by a veneer of black soils.
