McIntosh - Melon Patch PGM Prospect

THIS IS SUBJECT TO A JOINT VENTURE WITH SALLY MALAY MINING LIMITED (ASX: SMY)

Joint Venture details: A joint venture between 3D Resources and Sally Malay Mining Ltd (SMY) has been signed over the McIntosh PGM (platinum group metals) – nickel – copper project in the East Kimberley. SMY are committed to spending $70,000 in the first year of exploration and up to $1M to earn 75% of the project. It is planned that 3D Resources will have the right to contribute at the 51%:49% level.

The McIntosh – Melon Patch PGM – nickel – copper – cobalt project is represented by the South Melon Patch and North Melon Patch layered mafic/ultramafic intrusives occurring approximately 15km north of the Panton Sill (100% PLA) and 80 km north of Halls Creek. Detailed grid MAGLAG geochemistry over the South Melon Patch layered mafic/ultramafic intrusive has indicated the presence of an interpreted lopolithic or funnel – shaped ultramafic intrusive hosting at least two PGM horizons; Melon “A” PGM Seam and Melon “B” PGM Seam extending over an aggregate 4 km strike length.

Grades up to 5.1 g/t PGM plus gold have been achieved in rock chip samples taken from the extensive development of chromitite horizons within the intrusive. Recent RC drilling by PLA on the South Melon Patch intrusive returned results of 36 m @ 0.61 g/t PGM plus gold in drill hole SMP 006 with a higher grade intercept of 5m @ 1 g/t PGM plus gold.

Additional tenements to the south cover the McIntosh Hills lopolithic intrusive comprising olivine gabbronorite and troctolite units that are comparable with the host to the giant Voisey Bay nickel – copper deposits in Canada. The McIntosh Hills intrusive has received minimal modern exploration and represents a priority target.

Melon Patch Ni/Cu Prospect occurs within the McIntosh PGM tenement and is represented by a gossan occurring within olivine melagabbro/troctolite intrusive equivalents of the Sally Malay deposit. Sampling of the gossan has returned values of 0.45% Ni, 0.3% Cu and 1.08 g/t Au.
