Koongie Park VMS
3D Resources' tenements cover a 50 kilometre strike length of the highly prospective Koongie Park Formation, extending northeast of the Onedin and Sandiego deposits. Polymetallic volcanogenic (VMS) base metal deposits occur in intermediate to felsic volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks within the Koongie Park Formation, and to a lesser extent, the Biscay Formation. Excluded VMS deposits occurring within the Koongie Park Formation include Sandiego, Onedin and Gosford. A resource of 2.4 Mt grading 5.3% Zn, 1.3% Cu, 0.5% Pb and 26.2 g/t Ag has been outlined at the Sandiego deposit and 2.3 Mt grading 4.9% Zn, 1.1% Cu, 1.0% Pb and 32.8 g/t Ag has been outlined at the Onedin deposit. Initial metallurgical testwork has also been encouraging. Anglo Australian Resources NL is currently carrying out a pre-feasibility study on these deposits.
The prospective Koongie Park Formation is well represented in the 3D Resources tenements with the presence of hydrothermally altered crystal - lithic tuffs occurring north of the Gosford Prospect (within E80/3370). The intensity of sericitic alteration confirms that the hydrothermal system is large, with the potential to be associated with base metal mineralised lenses outside Anglo Australian Resources' tenements. The quartz - sericite alteration is also evident in samples taken within 3D resources tenements a further 1.5 km to the north with the presence of felsic tuffaceous units and distinctive subvolcanic granophyric quartz - tabular plagioclase phyric rhyodacitic high level intrusive rocks potentially associated with untested ferruginous - gossanous horizons.
Several prospects have been identified and represent immediate follow-up targets:
Highway and Banjo Bore South prospects represent VMS base metal prospects occurring within felsic to intermediate volcanic and volcaniclastic units of the Koongie Park Formation in the Banjo Bore area, 15 to 20 km north of Halls Creek. Mineralisation is associated with zones of typical VMS hydrothermal alteration including pervasive sericitisation and Mg chlorite - sericite alteration occurring within felsic to intermediate volcaniclastic rocks. Gossanous stringers have assayed up to 350 ppm Cu, 1100 ppm Pb, 2500 ppm zinc, 2300 ppm As and 87 ppb Au while ferruginous gossan units intersected by a shallow auger drilling have confirmed values of 1.16% Cu, 8.61% Pb, 50.5 g/t Ag and 0.25 g/t Au.
Cutty Sark and Bounty prospects represent VMS base metal targets in the vicinity of the Onedin and Sandiego deposits (excluded from the 3D Resources tenement package) within the Koongie Park Formation, southwest of Halls Creek. The areas have been highlighted by anomalous MAGLAG results that have been followed - up by auger geochemical sampling. The Cutty Sark prospect contains anomalous auger sample values up to 0.5 g/t Au, 575 ppm Zn and 292 ppm Cu while the Bounty prospect is anomalous in Zn and, to a lesser extent Pb, over a broad area overlain by black soils. Both areas have not been drilled and require follow up.
