Cosmo Newbery
Cosmo Newbery gold - nickel project area is located 95 km NE of Laverton, on the Laverton to Warburton road, in the eastern goldfields of Western Australia. 3D Resources has the option to acquire the tenements comprising the Cosmo Newbery Project. The Cosmo Newbery prospect consists of granted tenements and tenement applications covering a total area of approximately 470 km2 and extending over a potential strike length of 45 km.
There are few, if any, records of any recent exploration activity within the tenements being acquired by 3D Resources, despite the continuation of prospective greenstone sequences into this ground. Recorded production records from mines adjacent to the Cosmo Newbery Project area include 1360 tonnes @ 7.036 g/t from the Cosmo Mine, 120 tonnes @ 37 g/t from the Butterfly Mine and 60 tonnes @ 20.5 g/t from the Wanda Mine.
Much of the greenstone stratigraphic sequence is obscured by transported cover including aeolian sand that has provided a major impediment to previous exploration. However, modern geochemical exploration techniques and high resolution magnetics will facilitate future exploration in the area and increase the likelihood for success.
